About Insurance for Sleep Apnea

Medical Insurance Covers Obstructive Sleep Apnea, but not Snoring

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a medical diagnosis, and the treatment of OSA is covered by medical insurance. However, insurance companies generally do not consider snoring to be a medical problem, and so do not cover the treatment of snoring that is not related to sleep apnea.

We participate in several insurance plans for OSA treatment with dental devices.

If you have Blue Cross Blue Shield of NM,  Lovelace,  or Presbyterian medical insurance, you are covered to the maximum benefit allowed by your policy. We take care of all of the paperwork, and get paid directly by your insurance company. You will pay your copay and any deductible required by your plan.

For other medical insurers, you must pay us for the service, and be reimbursed by your insurer. If possible we will attempt to become a participating provider in your plan. However, some plans do not pay enough for us to make a fair and reasonable profit. We are unable to participate in those plans.

We do not participate in Medicare. However, if you are unable to pay our fee, we may be able to help you. Ask to speak with us about this.
